We reach out to communities through a variety of art activities that are open to the public including art exhibits, art projects for children at no cost, art demonstrations by professional artists, museum visits, and hands-on painting workshops and outdoor “plein air” painting. Our Painting Group meets weekly to share art tips, helpful suggestions and to socialize.
To make our many art activities more accessible, we offer rides to members who are not able to drive to in-person meetings. For those who cannot join our meetings in person or online, the art demonstrations are recorded and posted online for access anytime from anywhere.

Liz Hayward-Sullivan, professional artist, will present a landscape demonstration using multiple mediums including watercolor gouache and pastel.

Liz Haywood-Sullivan, PSA-MP, IAPS/EP, has been dedicated to working exclusively in the pastel medium since 1996. She is a sought-after instructor and judge for pastel societies and arts organizations around the world.
Liz authored the popular book Painting Brilliant Skies and Water in Pastel (Northlight, 2013). Her award-winning pastel paintings have been featured in numerous books and magazine articles, and have appeared in national, international, and museum exhibitions worldwide.
Liz is a President Emerita of the International Association of Pastel Societies (2013-2017) and past president of North River Arts Society (2021-2025). Her work is represented by Vose Galleries of Boston.

Festivities at our December Meeting
Celebrate with art and clean out clutter! You are invited to our Holiday Gathering and Art Swap at Endicott Estate on Monday, December 2nd, from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. Festive hats and holiday sweaters are encouraged to celebrate the season.
Art Swap #1 – Bring your gently used or new extra art supplies to swap with others. Please limit large items (for example, frames). No art books, please. Leftovers will be donated to the Art Department at the High School.
Art Swap #2 – At home, create a miniature work of art in any medium on a
4'' x 4'' substrate. Bring it to the December 2nd meeting, and we will have a blind Art Swap exchange. It’s a great way to meet other members and guests.
We will have other fundraisers for the Food Pantry instead of donating miniatures this time. The Art Swap is just for fun.

There is no instruction. Bring your own materials and lunch or snack. We meet up at the beginning and have a friendly show and tell at the end of each session. Carpools are encouraged.

Joseph McGurl is one of America's leading landscape painters. He has been designated a Living Master by the Art Renewal Center, is a signature member of the Plein Air Painters of America, an elected member of the Guild of Boston Artists, was a Copley Master with the Copley Society of Boston, a past fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists, and has won significant awards for his artwork. He is represented by some of the finest galleries nationally, and his work hangs in prominent museums and collectors' homes. Additionally, he has been the subject of numerous books and magazine articles, and he conducts workshops and presents lectures throughout the country.

Betsey MacDonald is an artist who loves animals. “I simply have a passion to keep creating art. I'm always seeing things that I need to paint. A great teacher once told me to paint what I love, so that's what I do!” With a BFA and MFA in Studio Art, she also completed a pre-med program and brings her love of science and knowledge of anatomy to her art. Having taught high school biology, chemistry, and art, her students were and still are a constant inspiration. Betsey now gives private and semi-private drawing and painting lessons. Her husband and entire family (including grandchildren) are animal lovers, and their favorite activities are those that include the animals, including riding horses, running/walking with their dogs, and of course, painting them.
Betsey is a juried member of the American Academy of Equine Art. She has had many solo shows of her work and often takes part in group exhibitions.

Dedham Art Association is offering free art projects for children at the free outdoor summer concerts hosted by the Dedham Junior Women’s Club at Endicott Estate.

Rain date July 24
As the day winds down, the Dedham Square streets shut down to vehicle traffic and open up to foot traffic, live music, art, food, activities, and shopping Square businesses and street vendors. Stroll, eat, drink, relax, and listen to music under the stars. There will be fun and games for kids & adults and the event is free to attend.
