“After many years of painting Botanicals, primarily in watercolor, I wanted to explore new directions with acrylic and oil paints working toward a looser style. The light and movement in sky and water in all their moods are what inspire me most. Even a faraway glimpse of water will often feature in my work. I keep going back to the marshes, bogs, sea and sky on the Cape and the New England coast …only to turn around and then be captivated by distant hills!

In 2013, I earned my certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the program at Wellesley College Botanic Gardens.I have studied with Ann-Marie Evans , Elaine Searle, Susan Fisher and Carol Woodin and many others. Their instruction has been invaluable. In addition, I have participated in workshops with Odin Smith, Andrea Petitt0, William McCarthy and others for more specific training in acrylic and oil. “
