“I was very lucky to grow up in a family who loved the arts and nature. We spent lots of time visiting museums and by the shore. In elementary school, my mom brought me to Saturday morning art classes, even though she had five other children at home.
I got a BFA from the Museum School, where I studied drawing, painting, silkscreen and metals. I loved every minute there!
Busy years followed, raising a family and working as a preschool aide.
But printmaking and a combination of printmaking/collage/drawing have been a consistent interest. Courses with Gracia Dayton, Anne Nydam and Annie Silverman have been very helpful and inspiring. I love the prints of Elizabeth Catlett and LaToya Hobbs.
My husband and family are my muses. I am drawn to scenes from every day life. We spend a few weeks every summer hiking in Acadia and I find it incredibly inspiring as well.
Art is very important to me. How grateful I am to have the time and opportunity to pursue it!”
