Dedham Senior Center present a photography exhibition featuring the work of Michael Leidig.
A free artist reception will be held on Wednesday, September 23, from 5:00–5:30 p.m., followed by a musical performance by Michael Leidig from 5:30–6:30 p.m.

Leidig’s breathtaking photographs celebrate the ever-changing beauty of the sky, inviting viewers to pause, look upward, and experience the wonder that exists in every passing moment. Through dramatic cloud formations and luminous color, the exhibition reveals nature as both art and inspiration, encouraging visitors to see the extraordinary in the everyday.
Although best known as a pianist whose eclectic musical arrangements span generations and genres, Michael Leidig has been passionate about photography since moving to Boston in 1999. Daily walks inspired him to capture the elegance of the natural world, leading to a body of work that reflects his belief that beauty is found everywhere for those who take the time to notice.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Leidig embraces the idea that nature is “divine art.” His photographs are never staged or planned; instead, they preserve spontaneous moments that may disappear seconds later. Trees and clouds particularly fascinate him because of their constant transformation, reminding us of the beauty and impermanence of life.
Like his music, which evolves organically from one performance to the next, Leidig’s photography embraces the unexpected. No two skies are ever alike, and each photograph records a fleeting moment that can never be repeated.
In keeping with this philosophy, none of the photographs in Head in the Clouds are given descriptive titles. By leaving each image open to interpretation, Leidig invites viewers to discover their own meanings and reminds us that while we may all look at the same sky, each of us sees something different.
Head in the Clouds celebrates the magical beauty that surrounds us every day and encourages visitors to keep “their feet on the ground and their head in the clouds.” The exhibition offers a contemplative experience that pairs naturally with Leidig’s musical artistry, making the closing reception and concert a fitting culmination of the exhibition.
