Betsey MacDonald is an artist who loves animals. “I simply have a passion to keep creating art. I'm always seeing things that I need to paint. A great teacher once told me to paint what I love, so that's what I do!” With a BFA and MFA in Studio Art, she also completed a pre-med program and brings her love of science and knowledge of anatomy to her art. Having taught high school biology, chemistry, and art, her students were and still are a constant inspiration. Betsey now gives private and semi-private drawing and painting lessons. Her husband and entire family (including grandchildren) are animal lovers, and their favorite activities are those that include the animals, including riding horses, running/walking with their dogs, and of course, painting them.

Betsey is a juried member of the American Academy of Equine Art. She has had many solo shows of her work and often takes part in group exhibitions.
