Chris Roberts, March 2026
Codman Farm, watercolor
Chris Roberts' New Hampshire childhood had the gift of encouragement with art and music, and although her paternal grandmother was extremely artistic in watercolor, pastels, and calligraphy, she passed away long before Chris was born. But Chris likes to think the gene pool prevailed!
Chris recently sold her home in Hyde Park and lives in Newton with her companion, Peter Shaw, who also happens to be another watercolorist member of the Dedham Art Association! The dream of art school never materialized, but retirement from 46 years in the field of dentistry as a dental hygienist now affords Chris time to create. She is a member and participant of the local Dedham Art Association and the Massachusetts-based calligraphy guild, Masscribes. She served as co President with her dear friend, Dan Mooney, and takes art/calligraphy classes with instructor, Nancy Galligan, and a small group of women.
Chris has traveled to take workshops in Brittany, Tuscany, Puerto Vallarta and Costa Rica. She is the proud mother of a daughter, Karin, a nurse, and boastful Nana to her grandchildren, Jack and Sarah.
